Abstract:

On the basis of the analysis of the displacement field of buried pipeline around the two foundation pits, the protection measures of buried pipelines during excavation of two adjacent foundation pits are innovatively studied based on 3D FEM in this paper. Three methods used for the protection of buried pipelines, including the soil improvement of passive field, side area of pipelines and the bottom of the pipelines, are discussed. The efficiency and effectiveness of the methods are analyzed, along with comparison of the advantage and shortcoming of the three methods. The study demonstrates that the methods of the soil treatment in passive field are relatively cheap and reasonable protection measures comparing with other methods and some valuable conclusions for construction practice are also drawn from the simulation.
