Abstract:
To find a more accurate method to research the formation of the droplets, the numerical simulation method is applied to study glycerin in water. Simulation of the water drop is consistent with experiment results very well. Influence of mass fractions on broken time, length and volume of the droplets are also considered. When the mass fraction varies from 0 to 80%, the broken time decreases from 4.002 s to 3.366 s, meanwhile the droplet's volume decreases from 1.063 μL to 0.9467 μL. The droplet's length changes a little between water and 20% glycerin solution, but the length of glycerin solution of more than 60% is longer than that of less than 20%. Numerical simulation is proved to be an excellent method to investigate the droplet's formation.
