Abstract:
The specific climate zoning for moisture damage of asphalt pavements in China provides a reference for test choice and moisture damage mitigation practice. Through analysis, the precipitation, high temperature and freeze-thaw are recognized as related climatic factors. And high temperature with rainfall and freeze-thaw with precipitation are the major climatic processes affecting moisture damage. Rain-temperature index and precipitation-freezing index are constructed to respectively indicate the influence of the two climatic processes. It is properly to divide China climatic zoning for moisture damage of asphalt pavements by these indices. According to boundaries of regions, which are formed with engineering meanings of those indices or equal probability principle, China climatic zoning for moisture damage of asphalt pavements is carried out, which includes 14 regions.
