Abstract:

The dynamic characteristics of self-anchored suspension bridges is experimented and analyzed using the way of non-linear dynamic time history. And based on it, the effect of non-linear viscous damper on the shock-resistant capability of this bridge is studied. The results indicated that the calculated model of suspended bridge built by beam and bar elements can be used to the seismic responsive analysis of structure, whose result is reliable. When the non-linear viscous dampers with proper parameters are installed along the lengthwise direction of main bridge, the control regional relative displacement of structure is reduced effectively. The seismic response effect of vital positions is improved to some extent. Meanwhile, these confirm that the viscous damper has good dissipation energy and damped effect too.
