Abstract:
The circuit of counting interfering fringes was designed with single-chip computer for Michelson-interferometer-based laser wave-meter. The program was written for fringe-counting with two 8254 counters and wavelength-calculating with Keil C51. The two 8254 counters can automatically be started to count pulses at the same time while falling edge of pulse signal of reference laser arrives under the control of single-chip computer. Both two counters can be locked also simultaneously at the falling edge of signal of reference laser after the number of pulse signal of reference laser is counted up to 1.5 million. As soon as the lock signal arrives, the counter numbers of two 8254 can be read and wavelength can be calculated by single-chip computer. Furthermore, average wavelength can be gotten by shift-meaning of 10 times and displayed on LCD with 7 bits in decimal. Two frequency-stabilized lasers of 633 run and 532 nm were measured in practice, and the experimental results indicate its measurement accuracy is 2 × 10-7 with this design.
