Abstract:

In order to make up for the deficiency of the existing texture type, the authors synthesize novel textures using existing textures by according to the patterns designed to enrich the category of the texture. The patch-based texture synthesis and the pixel-based texture synthesis are combined by adopting the patch-based texture synthesis that searches matching patch along spiral path and Ashikhmin's pixel-based texture synthesis. Compared with the Ashikhmin's approach, the speed of the authors' approach has been raised more than 5 times and the synthesizing results have avoided strip and noticeable seams of the pattern.
