The　life　cycle　inventories　of　fossil　fuels　can　not　only　provide　reference　data　for　the　life　cycle　assessment　of　the　chemical　industry　and　its　products,　but　can　also　show　the　environment　performance　of　fossil　fuels　production.　The　energy　sources　consumption　and　direct　pollutant　emissions　due　to　production　and　transportation　of　raw　coal,　crude　oil　and　natural　gas　in　China　in　2002　were　calculated.　The　emissions　of　water　pollutants,　solid　wastes　and　gaseous　state　pollutants　such　as　CO2,　SO2,　NOx,　CO,　CH4　and　dust　were　included.
