Abstract:

There is large quantity of phosphorus in wastewater, which can be transformed into resource by recovery and can be helpful to water environment protection. Both phosphorus removal and recovery techniques are presented. Methods of phosphorus removal, which include chemical processes, biological processes (enhanced biological phosphorus removal, EBPR) and ecological process, can be combined. Such as constructed wetland is an ecological treatment technology, which is strengthened by man. Struvite is regarded as one of the most promising means of the phosphorus recovery. While, in China, the study of this area is still at the beginning stage and further research need to be done.
