Printing　and　dyeing　wastewater　was　one　of　the　industrial　pollutant　headstreams.　Application　of　fly　ash　as　adsorbent　under　the　conditions　was　summarized　as　follows:　(1)　direct　addition;　(2)　addition　after　modification;　(3)　internal　electrolysis;　(4)　addition　of　it　as　co-coagulant;　(5)　combination　of　other　process　in　the　treatment　of　printing　and　dyeing　wastewater.　The　problems　were　pointed　out,　further　research　on　the　mechanism　of　wastewater　treatment　with　fly　ash,　separation　and　final　utilization　of　the　saturated　fly　ash　is　to　be　strengthened　in　the　future.
