With the acceleration of China's environmental protection process, large-span and beyond code limit closed industrial buildings have been widely adopted, but its beyond code limit analysis has always been the focus and difficulty in structural design. The Chinese structural codes also lack the relevant regulations for elastoplastic analysis and design of industrial buildings. Based on the structure of a large-span beyond code limit (a height of 44m, span 155m, exceeding the seismic specifications of the 120m) string truss coal storage shed in Tianjin Dagang, the elastoplastic analysis of rare earthquakes was carried out. According to the plastic hinge distribution in the calculation result, the weak part of the structure is found, the calculation model is optimized, the stiffness of the weak area is increased, and the optimized model is calculated and verified to ensure the overall safety of the structure. Through the elastoplastic analysis of the actual engineering structure of the large-span beyond code limit coal storage shed, it has accumulated experience for the structural design of large-span industrial buildings, which can be used as a reference for similar engineering design.
