In the wireless ad hoc network, due to the battery energy of the node itself limitation, achieving a balance of the node energy has become a consequential and meaningful research direction of the Wireless Ad hoc Network. The energy consumption of the node is related to the motion and transmission power of the node. In order to prolong the network lifespan of the wireless Ad hoc, a topological control algorithm based on node energy consumption and locomotion has been proposed. According to network topological actual change, this algorithm evaluates the current statement of stability, such as loss of path, node paralysis, node position variation energy balance and re-optimize network topological structure. The simulation results of NS-3 show that the performance of this algorithm is close to those of higher complexity, which can proportionate the energy of the entire network node, optimize the network throughput rate, and keep the data transmission off the irrelevant disruption. Besides, it can extend the period of wireless Ad hoc network lifetime as well. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
