In recent years, the rapid development of rail transit and train speed has improved the economic development, but also brought safety problems. Wheel safety is the foundation of the safety of rail transit vehicles. If there is a problem with the wheels, the consequences are unimaginable. However, there is little research on the wheel web detection method of the vehicle. Through investigating the wheel web crack fault, the occurrence of spokes crack of the vehicle may cause the wheels to crack and cause the derailment of the train, with extremely serious consequences. At present, there are many researches on the detection methods of wheel tread and wheel rim. There are few methods to detect wheel spokes, and they mainly rely on manual observation and sound listening, which is easy to produce missing detection. Therefore, in this paper, a damage detection method based on Lamb wave was proposed to detect, identify and locate the damage to verify the effectiveness of the method. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.
