T218 potted flower transplanting machine has completed the transplanting operation of the Anthurium from small to big flowerpots in greenhouse. However, the Anthurium stems prepared for transplanting that deviated from the center of the small flowerpots, resulted in eccentric growing of the Anthurium in large flowerpots. To solve the problem above, the self-aligning soil build and cavitation system for eccentric Anthurium stems was designed based upon machine vision. And the visual inspection system of eccentric flower seedling was constructed correspondingly, in which the OSTU method was used for gray image threshold segmentation of Anthurium seedlings to get binary images. The feature extracted is carried out with the target of eccentricity. According to the eccentricity inspected in X-axis and Y-axis direction, the soil build and cavitation system was designed and automatically adjustment movement of the large flowerpots was achieved in horizontal and vertical directions. A large number of experiments showed that self-aligning soil build and cavitation system, which showed good results, has successfully solved the eccentric problem of Anthurium stems after being transplanted to the big flowerpots. © 2018 IEEE.
