Abstract:
Hypertension and cardiovascular pathology are the most important factors in the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases. A cardiovascular disease is closely linked to a pulse wave, so a simple and real-time portable pulse wave detector is necessary for users. In this paper, to collect a signal, a reflective infrared sensor is placed in a special ring. Through filtering and enlarging the pulse wave signal, it is transformed into a PC to be analysed and displayed. In this paper, according to the characteristics, we design a circuit, and then print and weld it. Finally, we debug circuit to make sure this detector is feasible. We found that the detector had a good dynamic response and a real-time waveform display. Therefore, it shows that this device has some advantages such as convenience to operate; has simple and intuitive results, long-time monitoring, and has real practical use in our daily lives. It can detect pulse wave fast and create conditions for home monitoring. Furthermore, the device shows that it has broad prospects for commercial use. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
