Purpose: To simulate temperature distribution of bone tumor during radiofrequency ablation (RFA) by the finite element method, this study would propose a treatment to assist therapy in clinic, and improve the effect of radiofrequency ablation. Method: We employed mode of thermoelectric coupling to achieve ablation size, and got the 50°C temperature curves for ablation treatment producing by applied voltages. Result: When the high temperature ranges from 90°C to 100°C in more than 10 min heating time, the applied voltage is 28 V, created the 47 mm long axis and 34 mm minor axis of ablation. Moreover, by increasing the heating time, the area of ablation was augmenting. Conclusion: It is a benefit for the doctors to make surgical planning and consummate the results from this study, which is shown in the 50°C of temperature distribution of bone tumor and the ablation size. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
