Abstract:

According to convenience and accuracy problem of clinical wound area measurement method, the wound area measurement software is designed based on the Android. The wound image is photographed by the Android device and is cut out and converted to the grayscale image and the binary image. The invalid area is eliminated and the valid area is extracted. The pixels of wound area are counted. According to the pixel ratio, the wound area is calculated and displayed on the Android device. Results: The wound area can be marked automatically by wound area measurement software. According to the proportion of wound area and 1cm2 reference object on the same distance, the wound area data are calculated and displayed. The error of the software measurement is within ±1.112%. The software can complete the measurement of irregular wounds accurately. The wound area is measured by the wound area measurement software based on Android using Non-contact method such as taking picture, calculating and processing. It avoids the problem of wound infection and substitutes for direct measurement method widely used on clinic. © 2014 IEEE.
