Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is closely linked to pulse waveform, so a simple and real-time portable pulse waveform detecting device is necessary for user. Methods: To collect PPG signals, a reflective PPG sensor was placed on the mouse where the thumb touched during mouse using. Pulse signals, after filtered, amplified and A / D converted, was transformed into SCM and computed heart rate. Then data will be transferred into computer to display by USB connector. Results: After the actual test of the mouse, the mouse used well and the sensor can be measured and outputted the PPG signals well. Discussion: The healthy mouse monitoring PPG and heart rate can affect the user inadvertently to detect and record the pulse and heart rate when using the mouse. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
