Abstract:
Wind-resistant performance of beam string structure with high-strength steel, which adopts wind cable or not, is numerically studied, compared, and examined here by finite element software ANSYS. It is shown that downward vertical displacement tends to reduce and bottom string almost linearly relaxes as wind suction increasing, and overall stiffness of the structure weakens as long as relaxation of bottom string. However, wind-resistant performance favourably improves by using wind cable, whose critical wind load can be increased about 6.55% under unit self-weight of whole structure. The wind-resistant performance also enhances with the increase of height of wind-resistant strut.
