Abstract:

Cooperative relaying has played an important role in the rapid evolution of wireless communications. The cooperative performance strongly depends on the selected relays. In this paper, an improved Least Maximum Pathloss (LMP) method is analyzed for the relay node selection. Both the direct transmission as well as the traditional LMP and the improved LMP under the condition of cooperative amplify-and-forward (AF) relay in single-carrier frequency-division multiple-access (SC-FDMA) uplink are investigated. Computer simulation results show that the bit-error-rate (BER) performance of the SC-FDMA system can be significantly enhanced according to the improved LMP algorithm. © 2012 IEEE.
