Abstract:

Welding experiments of high strength steel plate produced by Baosteel with IPG YLR-6000-ST2 fiber laser and Slab CO2 laser have been processed. The differences of laser in practical application have been investigated through the contrast of parameters and welding seam dynamic performances. It is showed. that the maximum welding speed of fiber laser is 2∼3 times faster than Slab CO2 laser; the welding speed of fiber laser with the power 1300W is as same as Slab CO2 laser 3500W; the samples prepared by fiber laser have better depth-to-width ratio; the fit-up gap adjustability of fiber laser is better than Slab CO2 laser.
