Two core walls on the scale of 1/6 including a normal reinforced concrete perforated core wall and a reinforced concrete composite perforated core wall with concealed steel truss were designed. The experimental study on the seismic behavior of two core walls subjected to eccentric horizontal loading was carried out. Load-carrying capacity, stiffness, ductility, hysteretic behavior, energy dissipation and failure mechanism of the core walls were discussed. The test results show that the seismic performance of the core walls is improved greatly by the concealed steel truss.
