Abstract:

In order to study the conformation form of the typical faults-the distortion damage characteristic of en-echelon faults, the paper uses the eighth fracture rule of the finite element program of the tension fracture. When 0.995σ max≤ σ 1≤ σ max, the node cracks, the fracture process of the en-echelon faults is simulated. The en-echelon faults is divided into extrusion type and tension type according to the relation between staggered direction and movement direction. The fracture processes of these two kinds fault structures and comparison is made of the experiment results of the digital speckle experiment with the field experiment of the rock sample. The numerical experiment simulates the second crack, that is, the crack of the tension fracture. This can provide the theory support for the study on the occurrence mechanism and warning signs of the earthquake.
