The　conditions　for　laser　beam　welding　of　aluminum　alloys　and　measures　for　increasingg　the　weld　penetration　depth　are　discussed.　The　mechanismus　of　creating　pores　and　cracks　are　thoroughly　analysed　and　several　countermeasures　are　proposed.　©　1992　SPIE.　All　rights　reserved.
