Abstract:
After analysed the leakage current theoretically, it is found that the ratio of leakage current to input current will be smaller while the width of the laser ridge increasing. So we used broad area laser in the experiment. Comparable experiments are carried out based on the theory, and it is observed that under the situation of not adding nonradiative recombination, a smaller distance between the lateral array groove and the laser ridge will yield the better result of reducing leakage current. Therefore, the threshold current will be lowered, and the optimal power efficiency will be improved.
