Abstract:

In order to research the effect of empty hole in blasting, used the dynamic caustics-test system of blasting loading, the PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate) model transmission-type experiment of dynamic caustics was carried out to simulate the blasting process. Stress field around empty hole subjected to blasting loading was studied. The experimental results show that bull hole takes on guide effect for stress wave evidently. The difference of the principal stress near bull hole instantly reaches the maximal value, and subsequently it presents downtrend of oscillation variation. The direction of the maximal tensile stress approximately is perpendicular to that of the line between borehole and hole.
