Abstract:

Passive micro direct methanol fuel cells have drawn increasing attention because they are a promising choice of next generation of power sources for portable electronic devices. Micromation and passive characteristic bring a new challenge concerning reactants feeding for fuel cell reaction. Most ways of fuel supply in passive fuel cell, including methanol vapor feeding, direct soak anode, carbon dioxide drove liquid feeding, capillarity and surface tension, etc., are reviewed. An analysis and discussion of distinguishing feature and long-term potential are conducted.
