In order to investigate flexural performance of high strength recycled concrete beams, the flexural performance tests on simply-supported beams with different replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate were performed. 4 specimens were designed with the same cross section, same reinforcements and same C55 recycled concrete. The failure characteristics, load bearing capacity, ductility and energy dissipation of specimens were discussed. Results show that high strength recycled concrete beams have elastic, cracking, yield and ultimate phases just like high strength ordinary concrete beams. The average strain measured on cross-section sastifies the plane section assumption. Under same conditions, the cracking and ultimate moments of high strength recycled concrete beam are lower than those of the ordinary beams, but not much. The stiffness of the high strength recycled concrete beams reduces a little bit, however, the ductility is better. Finally, according to the present code of the Design of Concrete Structures, the ultimate moments of high strength recycled concrete beams are calculated.
