Abstract:

Based on the auto-regressive method, a way to simulate the time-history of wind velocity considering spatial correlations is found, and a simulation program is developed as well. The time-history of wind velocity for a canopy structure is simulated by the developed method. By statistical analysis, it is shown that a good agreement is reached between the simulated spectrum and the target spectrum. In order to analyze the wind-induced responses of the structure, the time-history of wind velocity is transformed to the time-history of wind load, and then the structural responses needed in design are obtained by time-history analysis. The studies in this paper show that the developed method is effective for the analysis of wind-induced responses of canopy structures.
