This paper presents an adaptive semiblind background calibration of timing mismatches in an M-channel time-interleaved analog-to-digital converter (TIADC). By using a sine wave testing signal and an extra sub-ADC, the relative timing errors for all sub-ADCs can be calculated accurately and immediately without interrupting the normal operation of TIADC. The estimated timing errors can be corrected in a fixed structure simultaneously. The proposed calibration method allows wide bandwidth, less restrictions on input signal and fast estimation. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed estimation and correction techniques. © 2015 IEEE.
