Abstract:

According to characteristics of vertical glass edge grinding machine, such as narrow installation space and foul working conditions, based on homemade strain type grinding dynamometer and orthogonal test, the relationships of tangential grinding force Fτ and radial grinding force Fn to grinding wheel velocity vc, feed speed vf and chamfer size c were researched and analyzed when grinding glass edge through V-shaped grinding wheel, forecasting models of tangential and radial grinding forces were established. Result show that tangential and radial grinding force increases with the increase of chamfer size c and feed speed vf, tangential grinding force Fτ decreases with the increase of the grinding wheel velocity vc, which has slight effect on radial grinding force Fn. Among grinding parameters, chamfer size c has the most significant effect on grinding force, the second is feed speed vf, and the third is grinding wheel velocity vc. The average error is less than 5% between values calculated by grinding force model and actual measuring values.
