Abstract:

The appearance of Distributed Generation (DGs) in power systems may reduce the number and/or duration of interruptions for customer residing within their protection zones. DGs can also improve the losses and voltage profile of system. To optimize not only the allocations of distributed generators, but also the allocations of reclosers, a new method was proposed, which was composed of improved Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm (PSO) and Analysis Hierarchical Process (AHP). The proposed method used improved PSO algorithm for the optimal placement and capacity of DGs and reclosers in the network. And the AHP method was carried out for the optimal number of reclosers and DGs based on the factors such as the profit, the power quality and so on. This method was carried out on a 33 feeders IEEE distribution network. And simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © Copyright;.
