In order to prevent the progressive collapse damages of building structures under accidental loads, nonlinear dynamic response analysis was carried out on the local damages of RC frame column using numerical simulation and test methods. The Matlab program was used to create curve of moment-curvature, and then the RC frame has been numerically simulated by inputting the curve data to finite element. Moreover, the experimental analysis was made on the variation of the displacement before and after cracking for the RC frame beams. The results of the study show that the design of RC frame should meet the rational coefficient of dynamical respond within linear range, and also the non-linear range. Only then will the overall stability of the structure be improved, and prevent progressive collapse.
