Abstract:

In order to ensure the efficiency of the vehicles at signalized intersection, many pedestrians crossing environments have been destroyed in Beijing, "Chinese style of crossing road" came into being. Based on the research on the endurance time of pedestrians crossing at signalized intersection of Beijing can ensure the safety of the pedestrian crossing and has a great significance on improving the efficiency. Moreover, it has important practical significance on promoting the strategy of "equity priority and give consideration to efficiency" and improving the efficiency of urban traffic system. According to the characteristics of the current traffic of Beijing, the paper focuses on the pedestrians crossing illegally who arrive at the signalized intersection crosswalk waiting area during the red light. The paper uses both video survey and manual survey to collect 9, 554 samples of endurance time. The paper establishes Weibull distribution parameter model of pedestrians crossing endurance time at signalized intersection. The results show that environmental factors, pedestrians characteristics, travel time, traffic conditions and road environment have great influence on the pedestrians crossing endurance time. © 2015, Science Press.
