The low cycle reversed loading tests on reinforced concrete square short columns with different loading angles of 0°, 22.5°, 45° and different axial compressive ratios of 0.2 and 0.6 were conducted. The seismic behaviors about failure mode, bearing capacity, ductility and energy dissipation capacity were analyzed by the test results. It turned out that increasing axial compressive ratio will enhance the bearing capacity, energy dissipation capacity, slow down the degradation of strength in later stage, but accelerate the degradation of rigidity. The load angle do not change the bearing capacity and the degradation of rigidity, but the ductility, energy dissipation capacity and degradation of strength will increase with the increasing of the load angle. ©, 2015, Science and Technology Periodical Press.
