Abstract:
A novel kind of polyamide containing a great mass of ester bonds in its backbone was synthesized via a solution condensation reaction at low temperatures. The polymer was characterized by techniques such as FT-IR, DSC, POM and SEM. The results demonstrate that this novel polyamide has an obvious liquid crystalline behavior when being heated into molten state, and is a typical kind of thermotropic liquid crystal.
