LiCoO2 (LCO) lithium-ion battery (LIB) is rich in valuable metals (cobalt and lithium), which has high recycling value. The existing process has basically realized the extraction of cobalt, but there are still shortcomings in harmless disposal of fluorine-containing electrolyte, binder and other organic matters, selective extraction of lithium and low-cost extraction of cobalt. In this context, a novel process was developed to realize the full-component recovery of spent LiCoO2 battery via environmentally friendly pyrolysis and hydrometallurgical leaching. The organic matters were recovered in the form of pyrolytic oil and gas, in which the harmful fluorine element was absorbed by Ca(OH)(2) solution. The current collectors (copper and aluminum) were recovered after the easy separation of electrode materials due to the degradation of binders. During pyrolysis the cathode material was deconstructed and reduced under the synergistic effect of pyrolytic gas and anode graphite. Selective recovery of lithium and cobalt was achieved through carbonated water leaching and reductant-free acid leaching. The leaching efficiencies of lithium and cobalt were respectively 87.9% and 99.1% under the optimal conditions. Lithium carbonate and cobalt sulfate were obtained by evaporative crystallization, respectively. The remaining residue was only graphite without impurity entrainment. The results in this research suggest that the process consisting of pyrolysis and hydrometallurgical leaching is inexpensive, efficient, and eco-friendly for full-component recycling of spent LiCoO2 battery.

碳税是应对气候变化的重要环境经济手段。该研究从征收差异化行业碳税的角度出发,探讨对四类行业分别征收120元/t、100元/t、80元/t和60元/t碳税税率的经济与环境影响,并将碳税返还企业和返还居民等两类情景考虑其中,结果显示:(1)征收行业差异化碳税会对宏观经济产生一定的负向冲击。在无税收返还情景下,2030年我国的GDP相比基准情景下降1.1%,固定资本投资下降1.36%,居民消费下降0.90%,而贸易状况得到一定改善,征收差异化行业碳税短期内能增加我国的贸易顺差,但长期则会引起出口下降、进口减少。(2)碳税返还能减少宏观经济的负面影响。返还企业情景下2030年的固定资本投资增加1.89...

废线路板的利用处置可以创造可观的经济效益并有效缓解资源压力,但同时也存在较大的环境风险,尤其是重金属与有机物污染不容忽视.在简述了废线路板机械物理法、湿法冶金、火法冶金、热解法等典型利用处置技术的环境健康风险的基础上,重点分析了重金属、有机污染物、溴化污染物、浸出尾液等特征污染物的排放特性、防控技术及管理政策,并提出了规范提升废线路板利用处置行业污染防控水平的相关建议,有利于促进该领域绿色发展.

This study developed an efficient and sustainable hydrometallurgical process for the enrichment of gold and silver and the stepwise separation of copper, zinc, and lead from sulfated roasted sand of waste printed circuit board smelting ash. Selective separation of copper and zinc was achieved by water leaching, and silver dispersion was reduced by controlling the amount of NaCl added during the leaching process. The results of the water leaching showed that the copper and zinc leaching rates were 99.85% and 99.47%, respectively, whereas the loss rate of silver was 2.1% with optimal leaching parameters. The high-chloride-complex method was used to study the efficient conversion and separation of lead from the leached residue, and the leaching kinetics and conversion mechanism of lead were discussed. The results showed that under the optimal conditions, the leaching rate of lead was 99.79%. Leaching kinetics analysis showed that lead leaching in the high - chlorine system was controlled by a chemical reaction; the apparent activation energy was 53.63 kJ/mol. After the leaching of copper, zinc, and lead, 1.66% Ag and 213 g/t Au were enriched in the leached residue; and the precious metal enrichment goal was reached. The chlorinated leachate showed good recycling performance, and a lead leaching rate of 97.93% was obtained after three circulations. After cooling, crystallization, and purification, lead chloride with a purity of 99.89% and high economic and industrial value was obtained from the lead-rich leachate. This process has favorable and sustainable industrial application prospects.

Clenbuterol (CLE) and ractopamine (RAC) are two kinds of typical β2-adrenergic agonists which pose a serious threat to the health of human beings. In this work, 10 kinds of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with high stability and various pore features are screened to assess adsorption performance for CLE and RAC. An Al(III)-MOF (BUT-19) with abundant ethyl groups exhibits exceptional performance in removing CLE and RAC from water. The maximum adsorption capacity for CLE and RAC are up to 294.1 and 366.3 mg/g under the optimum adsorption conditions, respectively. Meanwhile, the adsorption mechanism effects of pH, temperature, and coexisted ions are investigated systematically. It is found that the MOF pore size and weak hydrogen-bond interactions between CLE/RAC molecules and the MOF are the main causes leading to the extraordinary adsorption. This study provides a new idea for the purposeful design and synthesis of MOFs for removing environmental pollutants and sheds light on the depuration of contaminated water.

Cleaner heating plays a significant role in reducing air pollution. Studies show that residential coal-fired heating in some countries has led to considerable air pollution. In China, coal consumption and air pollutants increase dramatically especially during the winter heating period when centralized systems provide heating for select cities. Using a Difference-In-Differences (DID), we examined the daily reduction effect of the Coal to Natural Gas or Electricity (CNGE) policy on air pollution in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding ("2+26") region that receives centralized heating. The net treatment effect from the CNGE policy is estimated to alleviate 3.4 mu g/m(3) of PM2.5, 5.3 mu g/m(3) of PM10, 4.3 mu g/m(3) of SO2, 14.1 mu g/m(3) of O-3 and 0.1 mg/m(3) of CO. Moreover, we estimated the total cost of the transition to natural gas or electricity to be 3,336.78 million USD in 2017. These results can provide references for policymakers to encourage using and/or prolonging the CNGE policy in China and other countries that wish to make the transition away from coal.
