Self-assembled coatings with durable flame retardancy for EPS foam SCIE

Layer by layer (LBL) self-assembly coatings upon expandable polystyrene (EPS) surface play an important role in improving its flame retardancy. However, a large number of layers is needed to achieve a satisfied fire performance, and the coatings are difficult to adhere on the inert EPS surface, resulting in the poor durability. In this work, the surface of EPS was activated by ultraviolet ozone (UVO) with the appearance of oxygen contained groups, then a LBL coating with only two bilayers (branched polyethyleneimine (BPEI)-kaolinite (kaol)-BPEI-diethylene triamine penta (methylene phosphonic acid)) was covalently connected on the EPS surface. Compared with neat EPS, the obtained E-K5D30 sample increased the value of limiting oxygen index (LOI) from 18.8 % to 37.7 %, improved the ignition time from 59 s to 95 s, reduced the peak heat release rate (pHRR) value from 282.0 kW/m(2) to 220.9 kW/m(2), and enhanced the char residues from 6.3 % to 32.3 % after the combustion. Moreover, an ultraviolet (UV) curing layer with P/N elements was prepared upon E-K5D30 sample to maximize the flame retardant durability. A novel amino-intercalated kaol was used to play a smoke suppression role. The results showed that E-K*D-5(30)-P8N3 sample further increased the LOI to 39.2 %. Even after 12 h washing, the E-K*D-5(30)-P8N3 sample exhibited a slight LOI reduction to 37.8 %, and fire performance index (FPI) value of 0.405 m(2)s/kW, showing the successful construction of coatings with good fire safety and flame retardant durability.

本发明公开了一种用于提高挤塑聚苯板(XPS)与砂浆拉伸粘结强度的方法,在XPS与砂浆之间设置UV固化膜层,包括如下步骤:(1)将可UV聚合的溶液均匀涂布在XPS表面;(2)对涂布可UV聚合的溶液的XPS表面进行紫外光固化;(3)固化完成后,将新拌粘结砂浆涂抹于XPS的改性表面,在标准条件下养护28天后进行拉伸粘结强度测试。可UV聚合的溶液,按重量份计,包含:100份低聚物,10~50份功能单体,10~50份软单体,0.5~3份光引发剂,1~5份二氧化硅颗粒。本发明通过UV聚合的方式,在XPS表面形成一层含二氧化硅的固化涂层,利用涂层中的活性官能团,改善了XPS与砂浆的润湿性,从而提高二者的拉伸粘结强度。本发明实现了XPS外墙外保温系统施工现场的无界面剂使用。

In this work, a metal organic framework (Fe-MOF) with the effect of absorbing toxic gases and good compatibility was synthesized by chelating a novel organic ligand contained carbonization groups (reacted by tris(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane and 1,4-piperazine dialdehyde) with iron salt. Then, it was used as the synergist to improve the efficiency of intumescent flame retardant (IFR) within polystyrene (PS) substrate. With the addition of 20% IFR and 2% Fe-MOF, the obtained PS composites exhibited a limiting oxygen index (LOI) value of 28.3% and a UL rating of V-0. Moreover, the peak heat release rate (pHRR), total heat release (THR), and total smoke production (TSP) of PS composites were decreased by 77.6%, 35.2%, and 33.7%, respectively. According to the mechanism analysis, it was found that Fe-MOF mainly acted in the condensed phase, contributing to the existence of dense char residues with the presence of IFR system. In addition, the good compatibility of organic ligand in Fe-MOF with PS substrate could partially alleviate the deterioration of mechanical properties due to the addition of IFR. For PS-20%IFR/2%Fe-MOF, the impact strength was improved from 1.7 kJ/m(2) (PS-22%IFR) to 2.2 kJ/m(2), the tensile strength was also increased from 21.3 MPa (PS-22%IFR) to 22.4 MPa.

本发明公开了一种适用玻璃熔体的楔形均温供料装置,包括:楔形槽;楔形槽采用耐火材料构筑而成,耐火材料的抗热震性表现为20℃~1000℃的线热膨胀系数小于6.5×10‑6/℃、耐温性表现为荷重软化温度不低于1350℃、致密性表现为气孔率小于20%;楔形槽的槽壁夹角为20°~45°、槽口宽度为4mm~16mm,楔形槽内玻璃熔体的深度为200mm~400mm、液面波动为±1mm。本发明的均温供料装置可提高楔形槽的整体槽内温度,并且使槽内的温度更加均匀一致;从而极大地改善了所制得的玻璃熔体薄型化料带的形态,使玻璃料带的端头变得更加平齐、厚度更加一致。

Isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) was encapsulated successfully within double-layered shells, and final microcapsules showed outstanding self-healing functions in cement paste. The well-dispersed microcapsules had a diameter of 347.0 +/- 103.4 mu m, shell thickness of 3.1 +/- 0.4 mu m, and core fraction around 74.8% +/- 1.9% by weight. The diameters of microcapsules were adjustable by varying agitation rates. The beginning weight-loss temperature of microcapsules was 200 degrees C, implying good thermal stability. The final microcapsules affected slightly the workability and setting time of fresh self-healing cement paste. Although the mechanical strength of hardened self-healing cement paste was decreased with the increase of microcapsule concentrations, the open porosity was improved obviously from 33.5% (control samples) to 31.8% when 5.0% by weight of microcapsules was introduced. The interfaces of microcapsules were compatible enough with cement paste without obvious delamination. Especially, the self-healing cement paste showed outstanding self-healing functions in open air when 10.0% by weight of microcapsules was introduced. (C) 2021 American Society of Civil Engineers.

The Preparation and Characterization of Polylactic Acid Composites with Chitin-Based Intumescent Flame Retardants SCIE

In this work, a novel intumescent flame retardant (IFR) system was fabricated by the introduction of chitin as a green charring agent, ammonium polyphosphate (APP) as the acid source, and melamine (MEL) as the gas source. The obtained chitin-based IFR was then incorporated into a polylactic acid (PLA) matrix using melt compounding. The fire resistance of PLA/chitin composites was investigated via the limiting oxygen index (LOI), UL-94 vertical burning, and cone calorimeter (CONE) tests. The results demonstrated that the combination of 10%APP, 5%chitin and 5%MEL could result in a 26.0% LOI, a V-0 rating after UL and a 51.2% reduction in the peak heat release rate during the CONE test. Based on the mechanism analysis from both the morphology and the chemical structure of the char, it was suggested that chitin was a promising candidate as a charring agent for chitin reacted with APP and MEL with the formation of an intumescent layer on the surface.

本发明公开了一种中硼硅药用玻璃的熔化澄清方法,该熔化澄清方法在中硼硅药用玻璃池窑中进行,包括:在距池窑后墙30%‑60%范围内的池壁和/或池底上,布设4排~8排氧化锡电极且相邻两排氧化锡电极的间距为300mm‑600mm;向中硼硅药用玻璃配合料中加入硫酸锶澄清剂。本发明通过氧化锡电极和硫酸锶澄清剂的配合,使中硼硅药用玻璃澄清效果可以达到最佳;经过系统应用与验证,中硼硅药用玻璃气泡数量可以稳定地控制在(5‑12)个/10kg玻璃,有效实现了中硼硅药用玻璃高质量熔化澄清目标,使困扰中硼硅药用玻璃熔化澄清问题得到了很好地解决。
