Synthesis and Characterizations of High Crystallized Clinoptilolite by Structure Directing Agent Method and its Crystallization Kinetics SCIE

The clinoptilolites (CPs) with high purity were prepared via structure directing agent (SDA) method combining with hydrothermal method using silica sol as the silica source and aluminum hydroxide as the aluminum source. Their structural features were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, thermal gravimetric (TG) analysis, scanning electron micrograph (SEM) images, Si-29 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) profiles. The effects of additive amount and aging time of used SDA, as well as synthetic parameters such as crystallization temperature and crystallization time on their structure and performance were emphasized. Particularly, the activation energies of their crystallization kinetics at different stages of induction period and growth period were calculated on the basis of Arrhenius equation. The results demonstrated that the obtained CPs presented the highest relative crystallinity when the additive amount of used SDA was 1 mL at aging periods of 2 d, otherwise, their relative crystallinity degree was low due to existences of a large number of heterocrystal impurities. Particularly, the apparent activation energy values for induction (E-n) and growth (E-g) profile were calculated by the Arrhenius equation. The E-n value (86.46 kJ/mol) of induction period was much higher than that E-g value (9.64 kJ/mol) of growth stage, suggesting that the induction period was the main controlling step during the synthetic CP. Finally, the synthetic CP was employed to preliminarily assess its performances for CH4/N-2 separation. These demonstrations provide a promising method for the synthesis of CPs.

In this study, boscalid silica nanosphere nanoparticles (Bos@SNS/t Nps) and boscalid bimodal mesoporous silicas material nanoparticles (Bos@BMMs Nps) were prepared using two different methods. A comparative study on characteristics and properties of two nanospheres were conducted. Both nanoparticles had spherical shapes with average diameters of 719.3 +/- 6.3 nm (Bos@BMMs) Nps and 981.3 +/- 4.8 nm (Bos@SNS/t) Nps. The structures of nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, dynamic light scattering laser particle-size analysis, and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, indicating that Nps had a well-defined core-shell construction for efficient loading of Bos. The loading rates of Bos@BMMs and Bos@SNS/t Nps were 25.2 +/- 2.3% and 27.3 +/- 3.6%, respectively. The nanoparticles had obvious pH sensitivity, and the release of Bos in pH 9.0 was higher than those in pH 7.0 and pH 4.0. No significant difference in the release behavior of nanocomposites was found, and the release models were fitted with the Weibull equation. Finally, the bioactivity of the Bos-loaded nanocomposite was measured against Rhizoctonia solani, which showed that the fungicidal efficacy of Bos@SNS/t was slightly better than that of Bos@BMMs.

Prelaminar synthesis of anatase TiO2 nanoparticles supported on bimodal mesoporous silica (BMMs) was carried out by impregnation method. Physiochemical characteristic and structural morphology of synthesized catalyst (TiO2/BMMs) were studied in detail by X-ray diffraction patterns, N-2 sorption isotherms, Fourier transform infrared and ultraviolet-visible spectra, surface-zeta charges, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results demonstrated that the anatase TiO2 nanoparticles in size of around 5.06 nm were uniformly dispersed on the mesoporous surface of BMMs. The resultant TiO2/BMMs as photo-catalyst had extensive effect on degradation performances (93.6 %) of alizarin red dye in aqueous solution, in which the effects of various parameters, such as pH, dose, and pollutant concentration on the adsorption capacity and further photo-degradation were explored. Meanwhile, the reused photocatalyst after five successive cycles presented a higher activity with degradation up to 61.1 %, suggesting a good stability of newly synthesized catalyst.

本发明提供一种花瓣状斜发沸石的制备方法,包括:将碱源、铝源、水混合均匀,得到溶液Ⅰ;将非离子型表面活性剂、硅源、水混合均匀,得到溶液Ⅱ;将溶液Ⅱ加入到溶液Ⅰ中,并加入晶种,在80‑200℃下水热晶化10‑96h,冷却至室温后,经有机溶剂洗涤并离心分离后,进行干燥、煅烧,得到花瓣状斜发沸石。本发明通过添加非离子型表面活性剂有利于调控斜发沸石的生长行为,合成出一种具有花瓣状形貌的斜发沸石,所制备的产品保持了良好的结晶度和纯度;同时,本发明的制备方法具有产率高、能耗低、操作易行等特点,尤其适合规模化工业生产。

Zn(II) can efficiently promote the catalytic performance of imidazolium salt ionic liquids (imi-ILs) for the chemical fixation of CO2 into epoxides. To obtain sustainability, immobilized bifunctional catalysts containing both imi-ILs and Zn(II) were prepared using bimodal mesoporous silica (BMMs) as carrier, through grafting of Zn(OAc)2 and 1-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (Si-imi) separately in the nanopores. The catalysts, named as BMMs-Zn&ILs, were identified as efficient catalysts for cycloaddition reaction of CO2 into epoxides under solvent-free conditions. BMMs-Zn&ILs showed good catalytic activity, which increased with the increase of the molar ratio of Zn(II) to Si-imi. As a comparison, different catalytic systems including homogeneous imi-IL, BMMs-ILs and BMMs-Zn were studied to demonstrate different cooperation behaviors. Furthermore, the kinetics studies of homogeneous and heterogeneous bifunctional catalysts were employed to confirm the differences, as well as to support the proposed cooperative catalysis mechanism in the nanopores.

In this study, we synthesized pH-sensitive thiamethoxam-3-(2-aminoethylamino) propyl-bimodal mesoporous silica (P/Thi-NN-BMMs) nanoparticles (NPs). We used this bimodal mesoporous silica (BMMs) mesoporous material as a carrier based on the principle of free radical polymerization. The size of the P/Thi-NN-BMMs NPs was about 891.7 ± 4.9 nm, with a zeta potential of about -25.7 ± 2.5 mV. X-ray powder diffraction analysis, N2-sorption measurements and thermogravimetric analysis indicated that thiamethoxam (Thi) was loaded into the pores of the mesoporous structure and that the mesopore surface was coated with polyacrylic acid (PAA). The loading rate of P/Thi-NN-BMMs was about 25.2%. The controlled-release NPs had excellent anti-photolysis performance and storage stability. The NPs showed significant pH sensitivity, and the Thi release rate in pH 10.0 phosphate buffer was higher than those in pH 7.4 and pH 3.0 phosphate buffers. We described the sustained-release curves according to the Weibull model. The relative toxicity of P/Thi-NN-BMMs against peach aphid was 1.44 times that of commercial Thi. This provides a promising instrument for effective insect control and environment protection.

Three mesoporous silica materials (MCM-41, MSN and BMMs) possessing different morphologies but similar hexagonal arranged mesopores with almost the same pore size (2-3 nm) were functionalized by Zn and [1-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl-3-methylimidazolium] ionic liquid (ILs) via post-grafting treatment. The ILs grafted mesoporous silicas were then characterized by porosity, microscopy and SAXS techniques, and the successful loading of Zn and ILs, as well as the different distribution of functional groups in different supports were shown. Furthermore, the cycloaddition reaction of CO2 with epoxide was employed to evaluate the influences of the ILs distribution, which was proved to be caused mainly by varying morphologies of different supports. All the catalysts showed good catalytic activities. Interestingly, at low temperature, the inter particle supported ILs in BMMs had the highest catalytic efficiency, while the aggregation grafting ILs on MCM-41 present the lowest activity. However, the mesoporous silicas with ordered arranged nanopores present the superiority at higher temperature. The results highlight the crucial role played by the morphology of the supports.

Nanoprecursors used as a structural promoter (SP) were prepared by a hydrothermal method and named sol-SP. After centrifugation, the supernatant and precipitate were denoted as solution-SP and solid-SP, respectively. The effect of the additive amount on the structures and properties of the synthesized clinoptilolite was investigated using various characterization techniques. The activation energies of crystallization kinetics during induction and growth periods were calculated. The results showed that the induction period is the control step during the synthesis of clinoptilolite, while additive sol-SP or solid-SP was beneficial to shorten the induction period and therefore enhance the formation of the crystal nucleus. When their pre-crystallization time was too long or the additive amount was too much, the impure phase (phillipsite) in the synthesized clinoptilolite was easily generated. Although the addition of solution-SP had no obvious effect on the induction period, it promoted the growth of crystals after nucleation. Finally, the adsorption performances for CO2 and CH4 were preliminarily assessed using synthetic clinoptilolite as the adsorbent, showing the promising application for the separation of CO2/CH4.

Different preparation routes for TiO2-supported natural and synthetic clinoptilolite (TiO2/CP) composites were thoroughly investigated on the basis of sol-gel, hydrothermal, and in-situ hydrothermal methods. The micro-structural features and physicochemical properties of resultant TiO2/CPs were characterized via X-ray diffraction patterns, scanning (transmission) electron microscope images, Fourier transform infrared spectra, inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry methods, BET-isotherms, UV-visible spectra, and surface charge potential distributions. The results showed that in-situ hydrothermal method led to well dispersions of loaded-TiO(2 )particles on the surface of leaf-like CP, while obviously aggregated TiO(2 )on a relatively distorted structure of CP was obtained using sol-gel and hydrothermal methods. Their adsorptive and photocatalytic efficiencies for removal of crystal violet (CV) dye in aqueous solution were also explored under UV-irradiations. The results demonstrated that TiO2/CPs synthesized via sol-gel and in-situ hydrothermal methods presented the excellent performances with 98% removal efficiencies as compare to the bare commercial TiO2 which achieved 53% removal of CV dye. While, the in-situ hydrothermally synthesized TiO2/CPs were the best due to their moderate energy cost, highest adsorption capacities and removal efficiencies. Particularly, the synthetic CPs as supports exhibited synergetic photocatalytic activities for the degradation of CV dye, which is attributed to their high surface areas, better adsorption capability, and fine dispersion of TiO2 particles. Adsorption and degradation kinetics of CV dye were found to follow the pseudo-second and pseudo-first order models, respectively. Clinoptilolite (CP) with various morphologies, such as spherical, flower, cylindrical, and disc-shape, were successfully synthesized in the presence of alcohol solvents with different carbon chain lengths. The structural and textural properties of the resultant CPs were characterized via XRD, SEM, TG-DSC profiles, TEM, NMR, FT-IR spectra, and N-2 sorption isotherms. The effect of the additive amount of various alcohol solvents on the induction (nucleation) periods and growth stages of synthetic CPs were detailed investigated. Their activation energies of induction (E-n) and growth (E-g) periods during crystallization intervals were calculated according to the Arrhenius equation, where the former being larger than the latter, indicating that nucleation is the key step during the whole synthesis of CPs. Particularly, the E-n value gradually increased as the increasing chain-length of the used alcohol, but smaller than that without additive alcohols. These demonstrations implied that the presence of alcohol solvents is beneficial to promote the nucleation process of synthetic CP. Furthermore, their CH4 and N-2 adsorption capacity and selectivity were preliminary explored, showing the highest selective factor of 5.58 at 0 degrees C for CH4/N-2 separation using flower-like CP as an adsorbent. These results suggested a promising adsorbent for wide applications in gas separation.
