Physicochemical properties and fractal characterizations of the functionalized porous clinoptilolites for controlling alginate delivery in growing cauliflower and leaf mustard SCIE

Using natural clinoptilolite (NCP) as a carrier and alginate (Alg)-calcium as an active species, the porous silicon calcium alginate nanocomposite (Alg-Ca-NCP) was successfully fabricated via adsorption-covalence-hydrogen bond. Its structural features and physicochemical properties were detailed investigated by various characterizations. The results indicated that Alg-Ca-NCP presented the disordered lamellar structures with approximately uniform particles in size of 300 - 500 nm. Specially, their surface fractal evolutions between the irregular roughness and dense structures were demonstrated via the SAXS patterns. The results elucidated that the abundant micropores of NCP were beneficial for unrestricted diffusing of Alg -Ca, which was conducive to facilitate a higher loading and sustainable releasing. The Ca content of leaf mustard treated with Alg-Ca-NCP-0.5 was 484.5 mg/100g on the 21st day, higher than that by water (CK) and CaCl 2 solution treatments, respectively. Meanwhile, the prepared Alg-Ca-NCPs presented the obvious anti-aging effects on peroxidase drought stress of mustard leaves. These demonstrations provided a simple and effective method to synthesize Alg-Ca-NCPs as delivery nanocomposites, which is useful to improve the weak absorption and low utilization of calcium alginate by plants.

The MOF-5@clinoptilolite (MOF@CP) composites are successfully synthesized using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) for adsorption separation of CO2/CH4, CO2/N-2, and CH4/N-2. The effects of the PVP amounts on the dispersity of MOF-5 on CP random lamellas of the MOF@CPs are evaluated via various characterizations. Meanwhile, their single-component gas adsorption isotherms, breakthrough experiments, and cycling test are measured. The results elucidate that the used PVP amount has a significant influence on the particle size and the uniformity of MOF-5 dispersed on CP random lamellas. The MOF-5-loaded amount in MOF@CP is estimated to be up to 42.52 wt.%. Especially, the surface fractal evolutions indicated the surfaces of MOF@CP became from rough to smooth with the increase of PVP. The CO2/CH4, CO2/N-2, and CH4/N-2 selectivity factors of MOF@CP are higher than that of CP, displaying a better separation performance. Their cycling test revealed that MOF@CPs could be used repetitively, highlighting efficiency for CO2 and CH4 separation. Meanwhile, the MOF-5@CP stability under moisture is preliminarily investigated, showing higher moisture resistance stability than MOF-5. Additionally, the grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations demonstrated the adsorption separation mechanism of the prepared MOF@CPs.

本发明公开了一种用于催化二氧化碳与环氧化物进行环加成反应的共聚物的制备方法,该共聚物为丙烯酸与1‑乙烯基咪唑的共聚物;该制备方法,包括:在磁力搅拌下,将水相滴加到油相中,并将乳液进行加热、保温;其中,水相包括丙烯酸、1‑乙烯基咪唑和水,油相包括液体石蜡和乳化剂;向乳液中加入偶氮二异丁腈,保温进行反应;反应结束后,冷却至室温、离心分离、洗涤,然后冷冻干燥以除去残留的溶剂和水,得到共聚物。本发明所制得的共聚物含有咪唑基团和可在有机溶剂中稳定存在并溶胀的交联网络,可作为多相催化剂,无需添加助催化剂和有机溶剂,即可进行二氧化碳与环氧化物的环加成反应生成环状碳酸酯。

The bimetallic ion exchanged clinoptilolites (M1xM2y-CPs, M1 = Li+, Na+ or Cs+, M2 = Li+ or Cs+, x, and y = the exchange degree of the first and second cation) were prepared. Their physic-chemical parameters were characterized using various methods. The results demonstrated that the relative crystallinity of M1xM2y-CPs gradually decreased with the increase of the secondary cationic introduction. Meanwhile, M1xM2y-CPs presented the surface fractal features, particularly, the values of M1xM2y-CPs were higher than that of single ion exchanged CPs, suggesting that the surface of M1xM2y-CPs was rougher and more disordered. The effects of the type, size, and distributions of the used various cations on the gas adsorption and separation properties were evaluated via their equilibrium adsorbed performances of CO2 and CH4 demonstrate. The results indicated that the CO2 uptake of NaxLiy-CP increased with the increase of Li+ exchange degree, in which, Na67.95Li17.15-CP presented the maximum adsorption capacity of 2.45 mmol/g for CO2. While, the CO2/CH4 selective factors of NaxCsy-CP were around 10.82-12.75 at 273 K and 9.92-12.44 at 298 K, much higher than that of other bimetallic ion exchanged samples. The breakthrough experiments displayed a longer breakthrough time and a stronger CO2 absorption capacity. The cycling tests indicated an excellent CO2 adsorption stability and reversibility. Furthermore, the kinetics adsorption of pseudo-first-order and intraparticle model were used to investigate their adsorption mechanism. Finally, the CO2 adsorption mechanism between the adsorption amount and the average total energy of the CO2 adsorption system was preliminary elucidated using Material Studio simulation software.

Dispersion Performances and Fluorescent Behaviors of Naphthalic Anhydride Doped in Poly(acrylic acid) Frameworks for pH-Sensitive Ibuprofen Delivery via Fractal Evolution SCIE

The pH-responsive fluorescent P(1,8-naphthalic anhydride (NA)-acrylic acid (AA)) matrix was successfully prepared by a doping method using poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) as a pH-sensitive polymer and NA as a fluorescent tracer. The fluorescent behaviors of the used NA dispersed in PAA frameworks were demonstrated based on fractal features combined with various characterizations, such as small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) patterns, photoluminescence (PL) spectra, scanning electron microscope (SEM) images, thermogravimetry (TG) profiles, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and time-resolved decays. The effects of NA-doping on the representative fluorescent P(NA-AA) were investigated, in which the fluorescent performance of the doped NA was emphasized. The results indicated that aggregated clusters of the doped NA were gradually serious with an increase in NA doping amount or extension of NA doping time, accompanied by an increase in mass fractal dimension (D-m) values. Meanwhile, the doped NA presented stable fluorescent properties during the swelling-shrinking process of PAA. Ibuprofen (IBU) was used as a model drug, and fractal evolutions of the obtained P(NA-AA) along with the drug loading and releasing behaviors were evaluated via SAXS patterns, in which the drug-loaded P(NA-AA) presented surface fractal (D-s) characteristics, while the D-m value varied from 2.94 to 2.58 during sustained drug-release in pH 2.0, indicating occurrences of its structural transformation from dense to loose with extension of IBU-releasing time. Finally, the cytotoxicity and cellular uptake behaviors of the obtained P(NA-AA) were preliminarily explored. These demonstrations revealed that the resultant P(NA-AA) should be a potential intelligent-responsive drug carrier for targeted delivery.

Fe(III)-modified clinoptilolites (Fe-CPs) were prepared by hydrothermal treatment. The collapse of the heulandite skeletons was avoided by adjusting the pH value using HCl solution, showing the maximum relative crystallinity of the Fe-CPs at an optimal pH of 1.3. The competitive exchange performances between Fe3+ ions and H+ with Na+ (and K+) suggested that the exchange sites were more easily occupied by H+. Various characterizations verified that the hydrothermal treatments had a strong influence on the dispersion and morphology of the isolated and clustered Fe species. The high catalytic activity of the oxygen evolution reaction indicated the insertion of Fe3+ into the skeletons and the occurrences of isomorphic substitution. The fractal evolutions revealed that hydrothermal treatments with the increase of Fe content strongly affected the morphologies of Fe species with rough and disordered surfaces. Meanwhile, the Fe(III)-modified performances of the CPs were systematically investigated, showing that the maximum Fe-exchange capacity was up to 10.6 mg/g. Their thermodynamic parameters and kinetic performances suggested that the Fe(III)-modified procedures belonged to spontaneous, endothermic, and entropy-increasing behaviors. Finally, their adsorption capacities of CO2 at 273 and 298 K were preliminarily evaluated, showing high CO2 adsorption capacity (up to 1.67 mmol/g at 273 K).

Using poly(acrylic acid) (abbreviated as PAA) as a shell, bimodal mesoporous silicas (ab-breviated as BMMs) as a core, and bipyridine-proline (abbreviated as Z) as an active species, a facile approach for preparation of the P-Z@BMMs nanocomposites with core-shell structure was proposed, which was used as a suitable pH-sensitive catalyst for asymmetric aldol reaction between p-nitrobenzaldehyde and cyclohexanone. Their microstructural features and physicochem-ical properties were extensively characterized by various methods, such as powder X-ray diffraction patterns, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, the scanning (and transmission) electron microscopy images, the dynamic light scattering measurements, the thermogravimetric analysis, the elemental analysis, and the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy spectra. Particularly, their fractal evolu-tion, the pair distance distribution function, and the Porod plots were demonstrated via the small -angle X-ray scattering patterns. The results elucidated that the PAA was successfully incorporated onto the external amino-modified surfaces of the mesoporous BMMs, and the particles having PAA grafted thereon had a pH-responsive shell in thickness of around 0.97 nm for controlled release of Z species by adjusting pH value of the reaction medium. Besides, the synthesized P-Z@BMMs pre-sented the satisfactory catalytic yields (around 80%) in comparison with the homo-and heteroge-neous catalytic system using Z or Z@BMMs as the catalysts.(c) 2023 The Author(s). The constructed strategy of the disorderly layered UiO-66-on-clinoptilolite heterostructures was proposed through assistance of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). Their physicochemical properties were demonstrated via various characterizations, such as X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) patterns and scanning/transmission electron microscope (SEM/TEM) images. Particularly, the small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) method was employed to elucidate their fractal structure evolutions, manifesting the transformations of surface fractal with irregularity and roughness. The results showed that the PEG introduction was beneficial to the formation of disorderly layered clinoptilolites (CP). The particles sizes of UiO-66-NH2 were successfully controlled via additive PVP, and the interactions between UiO-66-NH2 and deposited CP-PEG were enhanced. The preliminarily adsorption performances of the obtained UiO-66-on-CPs exhibited a superior selective factor (around 26) of CO2/CH4. This approach may open a new avenue to improve its adsorption selective performance for CO2 and CH4 due to its dual microporous features and enlarged lamellar spacing.
