<正>由于具有多激励、宽谱响应、插入损耗小和响应速度快等优势, VO_2是一种理想的THz波主动调制材料。但是,由于传统半导体基底存在缺乏柔性、热容大、热导率低和不导电等问题,在硬质基底上难以实现高性能VO_2基THz波主动调制器件。为解决上述问题,申请人将VO2生长在顺排CNT薄膜上。顺排CNT薄膜具有沿CNT轴向有序排列的特性。

Ultrafast two-photon optical switch using single crystal hybrid halide perovskites SCIE

Photoelectronic performance of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites has been investigated extensively. Advancement in optoelectronic characterization and application of this group of materials in solar cells, light-emitting diodes, and lasers has been pushed forward rapidly. However, nonlinear optical properties for applications in optical logic devices have not been exploited. Moreover, long-lived excitons and charges limit the response speed of such materials and further construction of ultrafast devices. In this work, we make use of the high third-order optical nonlinearity of (CH3NH3)PbBr3 single crystals and develop a femtosecond optical switch (OS) based on strong two-photon processes through absorbing one pump and one probe photon. The fascinating band structure, with a steep edge at 2.22 eV between the transmission and strong absorption bands, endows single crystals of (CH3NH3)PbBr3 with perfect characteristics for two-photon optical switching in the near infrared. An on-off ratio of the probe pulses of about 90% and a speed faster than 400 fs have been achieved for this OS device. To the best of our knowledge, such high efficiency has not been realized for an ultrafast OS with any other materials and devices. Moreover, this is a first exploration, to our best knowledge, of the third-order optical nonlinearity of organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskites for application in ultrafast optical logic devices with high reliability and low threshold in the near infrared. Flexible Photodriven Actuator Based on Gradient-Paraffin-Wax-Filled Ti3C2Tx MXene Film for Bionic Robots SCIE

Due to their high flexibility and adaptability, bionic robots have great potential in applications such as healthcare, rescue, and surveillance. The flexible actuator is an essential component of the bionic robot and determines its performance. Even though much progress has been achieved in bionic robot research, there still exists a great challenge in preparing a flexible actuator with a large stroke, high sensitivity, fast response, low triggering power, and long lifetime. This study presents a flexible actuator based on a paraffin wax and Ti3C2Tx MXene (PW-MX) film composite. Such a flexible actuator delivers an excellent actuation performance, including a large curvature change (2.2 x 10(2) m(-1)), high thermal sensitivity (4.6 m(-1)/degrees C), low triggering power of light (76 mW/cm(2)), wavelength selectivity, fast response (0.38 s), and long lifetime (>20000 cycles). Due to the high thermal sensitivity and the strong infrared absorption of the PW-MX film, crawling motion of an inchworm robot based on PW-MX film can be triggered by infrared irradiation from the human finger. To mimic living organisms with bioluminescence, we prepared a PW-MX actuator with green fluorescence by doping PW-MX film with CdSe/ZnS quantum dots. The integration of luminescent function enables the PW-MX actuator to deliver information under light stimulation and to camouflage under a background of green foliage actively. With its merits of ease of fabrication and high actuation performance, the flexible PW-MX actuator is expected to lend itself to more applications in the future.

Quasi-one-dimensional (QID) semiconductor materials, such as carbon nanotubes, SbSI, MP15 (M = Li, Na, K), and selenium and tellurium nanowires, show amazing potential for applications in future nanoelectronic and optoelectronic devices. However, intricate chirality in the structure of carbon nanotubes limits their applications. Also, the performance of MP15 in optoelectronics has yet to be extensively explored. One new Q1D semiconductor material, fibrous phosphorus (FP), has recently received attention because its raw material is less toxic. However, the ability to characterize FP by phase identification is limited in the assessment of micro/nano-thickness, such as exfibrated FP. So, identifying a precise Raman spectrum will allow for much better characterization. Here, a sufficiently sharp Raman spectrum of FP was obtained and analyzed. Moreover, we demonstrated that high-quality, few-layer FP fibers with thicknesses as low as 5.55 nm can be produced by liquid-phase exfibration under ambient conditions in solvents. More importantly, an optoelectronic detector based on a single FP fiber field-effect-transistor configuration was investigated. A rise time as short as about 40 ms was obtained for the FP transistors, illustrating the potential of FP single bundle crystals as a new one-dimensional material for optoelectronic device applications.

Vanadium dioxide (VO2) attracts great attention due to its well-known metal-to-insulator transition. However, traditional VO(2)films grown on rigid substrates are inflexible, which limits their applications. In this work, we successfully prepared VO2/silicon nitride (VO2/SN) composite films by a simple template method. The VO2/SN film shows high flexibility, strong infrared absorption, and drastic resistance change (>10(3)) induced by the phase transition. The application of the VO2/SN film is presented by infrared sensing, which shows a high responsivity (720 V W-1) and short response time (409 ms).

It is of great importance to develop new micro-actuators with high performance by optimizing the structures and materials. Here we develop a VO2/Al2O3/CNT eccentric coaxial nanofiber, which can be potentially applied as a micro-actuator. The specific eccentric coaxial structure was efficiently fabricated by conventional thin film deposition methodology with individual CNT templet. Activated by thermal and photothermal stimuli, the as-developed actuator delivers a bidirectional actuation behavior with large amplitudes and an ultra-fast response, similar to 2.5 mS. A tweezer can be further made by assembling two such nanofibers symmetrically onto a tungsten probe. Clamping and unclamping can be realized by laser stimulus. More experimental and simulation investigations indicated that the actuation behaviors could be attributed to the nanostructured eccentric coaxial geometry, the thermal coefficient mismatch between layers and the fast phase transition of VO2. The micro-actuators will have potentials in micro manipulators, nanoscaled switches, remote controls and other autonomous systems. Furthermore, a large variety of coaxial and eccentric coaxial nanofibers with various functions can also be developed, giving the as-developed methodology more opportunities.

Single-wall carbon nanotube promoted allylic homopolymerization for holographic patterning SCIE

This article interrogates the mechanism for the incorporation of single-wall carbon nanotubes in the photo-initiated thiol-ene polymerization process and its application in holographic patterning. We find that single-wall carbon nanotube is able to turn on the allylic homopolymerization, which is not involved in the conventional thiol-ene photopolymerization process because of the autoinhibition of allyl monomer. This also leads to an enhancement of conversion for both thiol and allyl monomers. For the first time, the ability of single-wall carbon nanotube that promotes an autoinhibition monomer to homopolymerize is revealed. By applying this new mechanism, a flexible single-wall carbon nanotube-polymer composite film for the use of holographic patterning is demonstrated. The effects of the incorporation of single-wall carbon nanotubes on refractive index modulation and mechanical properties of a volume grating recorded are examined. It is shown that a substantial increase in refractive index modulation and diffraction efficiency is realized by small loading of single-wall carbon nanotubes (0.0015 wt%). This validate the proposed mechanisms provide a simple way to control the photopolymerization and therefore to tailor polymers for optical application uses. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. Active terahertz (THz) modulators play an essential role in THz technology. Because of the excellent THz modulation properties bestowed by its intrinsic metal-insulator transition (MIT) at 68 degrees C, vanadium dioxide (VO2) is an appealing active THz modulator material. Current active THz modulator designs based on pure VO2 films or metasurfaces deposited on traditional semiconductor substrates are typically subject to high triggering thresholds and slow responses. Therefore, further development of VO2-active THz modulators for superior performance requires new materials and device designs. In this paper, we develop a flexible active THz modulator based on an aligned carbon nanotube thin film coated with VO2. THz wave modulation driven by the MIT of VO2 presents a giant modulation depth of up to 91% and broad bandwidth (>2.3 THz). Various stimuli can be utilized to trigger the THz modulator. The response time of the THz modulator is 27 ms, which can be further shortened by decreasing the device size. In addition, the light-triggering threshold is quite low (0.58 mW mm(-2)). Optical anisotropy enables polarization of the THz modulator. Since they combine superior modulation performance, responsive stimulus diversity, versatility, and flexibility, these active THz modulators find applications in THz communication, THz imaging, etc.

Recent advances for phase-transition materials for actuators SCIE

Mechanical actuators, which convert external stimuli to motion, play a significant role in medical devices, automobiles, aircrafts, and robots. With their associated advantages of large shape change, high force, and high efficiency, phase transitions are among the most important driving forces in actuation. There are many phase-transition materials suitable for actuators, and many of them find applications in the real world. In this Tutorial, we review some typical phase-transition driving materials for actuators, including shape memory alloys, piezoelectric ceramics, vanadium dioxide, liquid crystal elastomers, hydrogels, shape memory polymers, and paraffin wax. The phase-transition mechanisms of the materials are introduced, and the design principles and related applications of the associated actuators are discussed.
